Frequently Asked Questions

  • Coaching and therapy are both collaborative processes that involve a trusting relationship with the client. They both require the client to be vulnerable and open to learning more about themselves.

  • The educational criteria for a therapist are different than that for a coach. Therapists are trained to make mental health diagnoses and may spend significant time helping the client explore their past and how past circumstances have influenced a client’s current way of thinking or behaviors. In contrast, coaches meet the client where they are and help the client move forward toward achieving their goals. Coaches do not diagnose mental health conditions.

  • Yes! Sometimes, it’s beneficial to have both types of support. I can help you decide what works best for you. Clients I work with have had some prior experience with therapy. In some instances, I may suggest that a client seek out therapy support if they are having trouble moving forward.

  • My clients are smart, hard-working professionals who have already done a lot of work on themselves. They’re self-aware, have a bias toward action, and are willing to put in the work to move forward. They’ve had prior experience with therapy and believe that something better is around the corner, even if they can’t currently see it. My clients all already have the answers inside of them. They simply need the guidance and space to figure out what those answers could be.
